We found a really neat looking bird on my parent’s lake the other day, and we’ve been searching for what it could possibly be. I’ve been to a few online bird identification sites, and we still can’t figure it out!
The Younger was watching me look at the different birds on What Bird, and then she asked if she could look too. She was so excited that she could see the bird and then listen to them!
She’s gone through every.single.bird they have listed for Florida and has listened to each call, and now we’ve moved on to the northern part of the country. She is having a ball, and we’re reinforcing colors and letters as we go.
If your kids are interested in birds, I highly suggest this site. It’s easy to navigate, and there’s so much for them to see and hear!

That is so great! My FIL was a bird watcher and hubby knows several more birds than I do. I sure do love to just sit and watch them. I’d probably have a feeder if it was not for my two cats!
What a cool site! Will have to introduce my boys to using to see everything that’s in our neighborhood
WOW sounds very fun! My son loves to listen to birds. We used to have a one and my daughter still remembers it -so she gets a lil sad around songbirds.
Did you ever find out what kind of bird it is???
Oh great, will try this out with my son.
I love free online educational tools
Oh this is perfect I am always trying to figure out what is what here! I love to have the kids help me look it up, because after all it is okay to not know everything!
Great site book marking for sure!
