Just Listen

This is a picture of The Younger when we went to Lettuce Lake Park this weekend. She lay on a bench and just watched the birds and listened to the wind, and it served as a nice reminder that if we are just still and listen every once in a while, we’ll hear all sorts of interesting things; even things our own hearts are saying to us.

Ah, yes. That child-like wonder. I am thankful that my children (who are now quite a bit older) have taught me to find it again. I will be forty this fall and am finally remembering to stop and smell the flowers. What a blessing to have such reminders!

I just love this photo and the sentiment behind it. I think you’ll be treasuring this for years.

What an adorable little girl. This photo is priceless, even without your description, it says so much! Love that she is teaching US today – to take a moment and listen :)

That is beautiful! This photo should be in a magazine with that very reminder.

What a beautiful picture! And yes, definitely a reminder that we can hear so much if we just stay still a minute. I took my kids on a hike today and we stopped on the trail just to listen to the sound of the birds around us. Sometimes those quiet moments are the best:)
    Thanks for sharing,
