Looking for another free family activity in Tampa? Largo Central Park offers train rides the first full weekend of every month. We went there when The Younger was about 2 months old and The Older was 5. The Younger couldn’t ride (children have to be able to sit up on their own), but The Older and I rode together. It was really fun! The train small, so you ride on the train, not in it, but it’s smooth and you get to see a lot of the park and its pretty scenery.
After the train ride, we explored the park itself. It’s beautiful there, and my only regret was that we didn’t have a picnic lunch with us. We have to go again now the The Younger is old enough to ride, and I think we’ll make a whole day of it.
